TRANSMEDIA RELAY

is an open-ended chain of artistic transformations through contrasting media, taking off from Bruno Latour's questioning of modernity.

Behind the scenes, Aimless Research Institute and GalleryGalleryINC are tweaking the knobs to push the experiment out of control, initiating collisions between contrasting practices and scanning the gallery space for desirable yet unpredictable emissions.

“Less Unreasonable” translates the ethereal and percussive sounds of KLATSCH Improv Ensemble’s “Object Lore” into screen prints—hundreds of them, produced both on and offsite in green and turquoise inks. Like the blades of a luscious kelp forest, this exhibition layers illustration upon illustration via overprinting techniques.

PAVEMENT Print Studio is

a mobile screen-printing practice that brings collaborative printmaking into public space. The studio's work centres on participatory making — layering contributions from multiple people through overprinting to create collective outcomes that none could have made alone. Established in 2025 with support from RMIT's Brunswick Campus, the studio is operated by students, alumni and staff from the Graphic Design program.
